A part of the not-for-profit organisation SkillsPlus Limited, SkillsPlus Disability Employment Service (DES) assists people with disabilities, illnesses and medical conditions to gain and maintain ongoing employment in the open labour market.
Our Services for Job Seekers:
Once registered with SkillsPlus DES will offer you:
- A dedicated DES Employment Consultant who will work with you to assist you to achieve your employment goal(s);
- Pre-employment training, which includes identifying suitable training or career options;
- Assessment of your skills and career interests;
- Resume and application letter preparation;
- Interview technique training and mock interview practice;
- Access to Job Search Groups;
- Access to computers with a connection to the Internet, word processing facilities, faxes and telephones in order to apply for jobs;
- Access to photocopying, postage and print outs of your resume and job applications;
- Marketing to employers in order to generate job interviews;
- Support in partnership with your support networks while you are looking for and maintaining employment;
- Help to identify potential apprenticeships and traineeships.

Eligibility for Job Seekers:
- Be an Australian Citizen;
- Not be currently serviced by another DES or Employment Service Provider;
- Have a disability, injury or health condition;
- Be aged between 14 and 65 years.
