National Disability Coordination Officer Program

The NDCO program Funded by the Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations, aims to improve the transition of students with a disability from compulsory education to post compulsory options including TAFE, University and employment.

The National Disability Coordination Officer Program for Southern Melbourne and Suburbs is hosted by SkillsPlus Ltd. and services the following local government areas;

Success Story

PACTS program perks interest; funding from DHS

The NDCO program worked closely with Naranga Special School and some parents of the students there to develop Parents as Career Transition Support (PACTS) special edition for southern Melbourne region.

This unique program has been adapted from the original Brotherhood of St Laurence PACTS model used to support the conversations between parents and their teenagers with and without a disability, about education, training and employment options.

The Victorian Department of Human Services (DHS), Southern Region, has shown great interest in the program and have funded the NDCO program to make it available in five special schools in the region. The workshops will be offered to career advisers, work experience staff and parents this financial year.
