What is Victoriaworks for graduates with a disability?
Victoriaworks for graduates with a disability supports the transition of graduates with a disability into employment in the public & community sectors in Victoria.
People with a disability often face considerable barriers to employment. They also, however, possess skills and experience that are valuable in our workplaces.
Victoriaworks for graduates with a disability gives graduates with a disability that "first step" by supporting the graduate toward ongoing employment and a career in the public or community sectors.
How We Can Help?
- Provide a seamless graduate support service between education, training, careers development, jobsearch and employment
- Identify suitable employment positions in the public or community sectors
- Negotiate work adjustments or job flexibility to enable effective job performance
- Establish an employment agreement between the employer and graduate in each placement, including any on-the-job training and / or professional development
- Provide mentoring and other support to both the employer and the graduate for the period of their placement
- Complement services provided under Commonwealth-funded employment services
Are You Eligible?
To be eligible for Victoriaworks for graduates with a disability program you must:
- Have a recognised disability
- Minimum qualification of Certificate III
- Be graduating within the next 6 months or have graduated within the past 2 years
- Be unemployed or working less than 15 hours on a temporary or casual basis
