SkillsPlus has been contracted by the Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations to manage the Group Training in the Trades Pre-Vocational Programme in Victoria. This programme offers free pre-vocational education and training and Australian School-based Apprenticeships in trades areas.

The Group Training in the Trades Pre-Vocational Programme (GTTPP) is a Commonwealth Government initiative.

The programme will assist eligible participants to undertake Australian Apprenticeships in the trades by providing opportunities in the following ways:

• providing participants with pre-vocational training in the trades in order to gain the pre-requisites to secure an Australian Apprenticeship in the trades; or
• allowing students to undertake an Australian School-based Apprenticeship in the trades whilst at school undertaking their year 11 and 12 Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE) or Victorican Certificate of Applied Learning (VCAL).
